Purpose
As a Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all tax-related matters, ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of tax obligations to the relevant authorities. You will play a key role in supporting compliance, tax planning, and optimization activities, contributing to the Bank’s overall financial integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
- Participate in tax research, analysis, and interpretation to support compliance, tax planning, and optimization initiatives, including the impact assessment of new tax laws and transfer pricing regulations
- Calculate tax liabilities and support the preparation and submission of tax returns and external filings (e.g., via the IAPR e-book platform – MyData)
- Manage the systemic supervision of tax activities (VAT, income tax, etc.), ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports to the relevant authorities
- Prepare and file the annual income tax return, ensuring compliance with national tax regulations
- Ensure the collection, reconciliation, and validation of financial data to enable timely and accurate tax payments
- Prepare reports and reconciliations related to payments, accounts payable, and other tax-related transactions
- Monitor developments in Greek and international tax legislation, assessing their potential impact on the Bank’s operations and compliance framework
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency across all tax and financial reporting activities
What you need to have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- A Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a relevant discipline (preferred)
- At least four (4) years of professional experience in accounting or tax-related roles, ideally within the banking or financial sector
- Solid understanding of Greek tax regulations, VAT, and corporate tax reporting processes
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems or accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills in Greek and English, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
