Purpose

 

As a Credit Real Estate Senior Valuer / Reviewer you will be an integral part of the Credit Control Business Area and you will be responsible for the establishment and execution of the Quality assurance grid regarding Real Estate valuations. This incorporates conducting and reviewing Real Estate valuations, including the development and implementation of a quality assurance framework encompassing policy maintenance, sample reviews, issue assessments, and validation of Group Real Estate asset impairment losses.

 

You should have extensive experience in valuation techniques as well as strong quantitative and financial modeling skills. Furthermore, you should be methodical, self-disciplined and a team player, with the ability to share knowledge and deliver quality results.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Conduct sample-based reviews of property valuations and communicate findings through formal second Line of Defense (LoD) reporting, ensuring adherence to applicable valuation standards and methodologies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and periodic updating of internal policies and frameworks governing Real Estate (RE) valuations, including those related to collaterals, Real Estate Owned (REO) assets, and investment properties.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to RE valuations.
  • Collect, consolidate, and interpret appraisal data to support accurate valuation assessments.
  • Perform on-site and drive-by inspections of selected properties to validate appraisal accuracy and physical condition.
  • Manage and coordinate targeted outsourcing activities for property valuation tasks in regions outside Attica and in international markets.
  • Opine to Credit Committees or other relevant stakeholders in cases where property valuations are disputed or raise concerns.
  • Review and recommends the validation of impairment losses on Group real estate assets to the Credit Control Director.

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree preferably majoring in Engineering, Real Estate, Finance or in any other related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree in in the above-mentioned fields or an MBA will be considered an asset.
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar position within the Banking industry or in a consulting firm.
  • A professional qualification or a part qualification of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Association of Greek Valuers (AVAG).
  • A Property Valuer certification from the Hellenic Ministry of Finance will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 implementation will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with related research/database sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in the Greek and in the English language.
  • Results-oriented mindset and ability to meet tight deadlines.
