Purpose

 

The Data Validation Specialist will be placed in the Bank's Risk Models and Data Validation Business Area, and you will be responsible for managing and running data and reporting quality related projects.

 

In this role, you will assess the design, the build and the maintenance of data architecture, the IT infrastructure, and the adequacy of integrated solutions in the aggregation and report compilation. Additionally, you will assess data lineage, data taxonomy and all IT activities related to the BCBS239/RDARR capabilities.

 

You should be eager to gain a deep understanding of the Group’s operations, capable of analyzing the current needs and contributing to planning proposals/projects/business cases to ensure the Bank’s compliance with the BCBS239/ Risk Data and Reporting Aggregation (RDARR) related regulation.

 

 

 What you will be doing

 

  • Implement the RDARR validation framework, including assessment of data, reporting and IT processes and controls from a risk-based perspective.
  • Review and monitor the implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with business units, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements and ensure regulatory expectations are met.
  • Monitor adherence to data quality standards and guidelines across the organization.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to data and reporting quality and identify potential risks associated with inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Generate regular reports on data quality metrics, issues, and resolutions for management and for regulatory purposes.

 

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or in any other related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree in any of the above fields would be considered an asset.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience preferably in Data Quality Analysis or IT Governance/Compliance.
  • Certification related to IT architecture assessment will be considered an asset (i.e. TOGAF, CISA)
  • Knowledge of System integration concepts and how risk systems, data warehouses, and reporting tools connect.
  • Understanding of IT general controls (ITGC) and application controls.
  • Experience with statistical packages, such as SPSS Modeler will be considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking.
  •  Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Ability to draft reports quickly, featuring key business and technical insights.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
  • Advanced use of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint).
