Purpose

 

As an ESG Initiatives Expert, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of ESG initiatives across the Group’s operations, working in close collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders. You will drive the integration of Sustainable Finance into the Group’s lending activities and support credit processes for Sustainable Finance (SF) loans by providing expert insights on their alignment with the Group’s Sustainable Finance Framework.

 

The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic, and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of ESG principles and sustainable finance trends. Exceptional analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work cross-functionally are essential. A solutions-driven mindset and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic and evolving regulatory landscape are also critical for success in this role.

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead the design, development, and cross-functional implementation of ESG initiatives across the Group’s operations.
  • Ensure the consistent application of sustainable finance practices across the Bank’s Business Units (Wholesale & Retail Lending, Treasury, Investment Banking, and Asset Management), in alignment with the Bank’s Sustainable Finance Framework.
  • Monitor the implementation of the Bank’s Sustainability Strategy, ensuring that relevant risk scenarios are identified and incorporated into the Group’s overall sustainability planning.
  • Track internal and external ESG performance targets, ensuring alignment with the Group’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and strategic sustainability agendas.
  • Provide input to the Group Sustainability Committee on the integration of ESG standards into the Bank’s policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Prepare and manage the ESG integration budget, including the estimation of costs related to external consultancy services and the implementation of relevant IT systems and applications.
  • Coordinate the implementation of Group-wide Sustainability and Environmental projects across local and international subsidiaries, with a focus on climate risk management, sustainable finance, and environmental footprint reduction.
  • Manage collaboration with IT and Operations teams to ensure the effective implementation of systems and processes supporting Climate Risk Management and ESG Reporting.

 

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Finance
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is considered a plus
  • A minimum 10 years of experience in Banking, Finance, or Consulting and at least 5 years of hands-on experience in ESG/Sustainability-related roles
  • In-depth knowledge of the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) framework
  • Demonstrated Leadership in implementing ESG strategies at an organizational level
  • Strong background in Project Management, Risk Management, and Budget Management
  • Experience in Performance Measurement and ESG Reporting
  • Familiarity with Business Planning within a sustainability context
  • Proven ability in Change Management and driving ESG integration across business functions
  • Strong Complex Problem-Solving skills to navigate sustainability challenges
  • Excellent Communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement
