Purpose


As a Financial Institutions Trader will join the Financial Institutions Functional Area of the Trading Business Area and will you be responsible for managing and developing the relationships with other banks within the regional area under his/her competence and for following the economic developments of the respective countries. You will be accountable for achieving the annual budget goals within area of responsibility by comparing and negotiating the terms of business with other banks in the fields of correspondent banking, payments and trade-related transactions. Additionally, the jobholder will be responsible for the initial credit assessment of other banks, apply to the pertinent Credit Committee for trade transactions limits and support the Bank’s operations by liaising with these banks, as an escalation point, to tackle any unsolved issues.

What you will be doing

 

  • Manage and develop the existing relationships with other banks and create new ones.
  • Follow the international economic trends and the developments of other banks’ rankings, ratings, ownership, financials as well as their developments in the fields of correspondent banking, payments and trade.
  • Compare and negotiate the terms of business for payments and trade-related transactions.
  • Evaluate the cooperation with other banks and assess their credit status with regard to the undertaking of risk by applying to the pertinent Credit Committee for trade-related transactions limits.
  • Support the Branch Network’s and the Bank’s Business Areas’ activities by liaising with other banks and contribute to tackling unsolved issues.

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Banking or in any other related field.
  • A Master’s degree in any of the aforementioned fields would be considered an asset.
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in roles related to payments or trade transactions.
  • Fluency in Greek and English (both verbal and written) plus knowledge of any additional language.
  • Very good use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and apply rules and regulations. • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
