Purpose
As a SB Area Senior Specialist you will be responsible for driving the growth of Small Business lending within a specific geographic region. You will be positioned in selected Network Branches within the Small Business Banking Business Area, covering market areas with strong sales growth potential. The jobholder will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with high-value small business owners, assessing customer needs, making appropriate recommendations and facilitating loan applications through the entire lending process. The SB Area Senior Specialist will work closely with internal teams and external partners (i.e. Business Consulting Ecosystem), to ensure efficient and effective loan origination, underwriting and closing processes. You will handle the origination and preparation of the “Large SB” Customers’ loan requests, particularly for complex or high-amount loans.

You will collaborate with Branch Managers and Branch Business Relationship Managers, to achieve the lending targets of the Business Area.
What you will be doing
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture that promotes knowledge sharing and best practices for developing trusted advisor relationships with key Small Business Customers.
• Collect all the necessary information/documentation and draft credit proposals for the Credit Committee, which include analyzing financial statements, conducting sensitivity analysis of the business plan and presenting the structure of the proposed financing.
• Monitor the implementation of approved loan applications and taking necessary actions, in collaboration with the Branch Network and the Back Office, to ensure the timely and seamless disbursement of the loan.
• Ensure a superior customer experience by addressing the Customers’ financing needs effectively.
• Develop a strategic and tactical plan, in collaboration with Branch Managers and Branch Business Relationship Managers, to meet the Business Area’s lending target and monitoring the level of achievement.
• Demonstrate commitment to achieving the goals set by the Business Area.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and the European Banking Authority (EBA) Guidelines.
• Stay up to date with emerging business trends and share knowledge of related tools and techniques within the Retail Banking Business Unit.
What you need to have
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field.
• A postgraduate degree in a relevant field of study is considered an asset.
• At least five (5) years of professional experience as a Business Relationship Manager (BRM/BRM-G) or in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) financing within areas such as the Branch Network, Business Centers, Corporate Banking, Credit Divisions or the Small Business Banking Business Area.
• Thorough understanding of commercial lending, small business operations and financial products.
• Confidence coupled with a positive attitude, a team-oriented mindset and the ability to build effective partnerships.
• Knowledge of the framework associated with state guarantees, grants and cofinancing schemes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, public speaking and networking skills.
• Ability to travel for business meetings.
