Purpose

 

We are looking for a Senior Lawyer to join our Legal Division, with a focus on procurement and vendor-related legal matters. 

 

As a Procurement Lawyer at Alpha Bank, you will play a critical role in supporting the Bank’s procurement-related legal activities. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that all procurement agreements meet legal standards, reflect business objectives, and comply with relevant regulations. Your expertise will help mitigate legal risk and support the Bank’s operational and digital transformation initiatives.

 

You combine strong legal knowledge with a solutions-oriented mindset. You are thorough, collaborative, and proactive in identifying and addressing legal issues before they arise.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Assist the Central Procurement Management and Outsourcing Business Area with all legal issues pertaining to procurement activities
  • Draft contracts associated with the Bank’s procurement (including software licensing, vendor agreements, as well as technology-related and supply contracts)
  • Ensure that contracts are legally valid, accurately reflect the objectives of the parties, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing procurement activities
  • Assess and mitigate legal risks involved in procurement transactions
  • Address potential legal issues that may arise during the procurement process by collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Provide advice on disputes and conflicts related to procurement, when required
  • Keep up with technological developments, as well as with legal and regulatory requirements, to ensure that the Organization’s operations remain compliant

 

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law
  • A Master’s degree in Information Technology or Commercial Law will be considered a plus
  • Membership in a Bar Association
  • At least ten (10) years of relevant professional experience gained in-house or in a leading private practice
  • Knowledge of the banking regulatory framework and of the intellectual property and data protection regulations is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in Greek and in English
  • Business-minded approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s own workload while being part of a team
