Purpose

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be placed in the IT Digital Services and Data Analytics Division and you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and maintaining complex datawarehouse software applications. Also ensures alignment with established design patterns, domain-driven design methodology, and other industry best practices. Leads development teams within the context of projects.

What you will be doing

• Work closely with business stakeholders and solutions architects to clarify requirements and translate them into robust, scalable, operable data management solutions.
• Design complex/innovative data management, data warehouse, data quality and data analytics solutions.
• Monitor exploratory data analysis to identify root causes of data issues and suggests improvements to the ETL (extract, transform, loading of data) process as well as the quality and performance of data processes.
• Design data profiling processes on different sources (database, files, etc.) for quality and accuracy control.
• Identifie and reviews the implementation of internal process improvements.
• Engage in the selection and implementation of the appropriate technologies to deliver resilient data solutions.
• Co-ordinate data engineering teams to resolve problems and implements solutions and measures and ensures that data management teams are working to the data standards set for the organization.
• Review and assists Data Engineers in the design and implementation of efficient data warehouse, data management, data quality, and data analytics applications.
• Produce data models across multiple subject areas.
• Understand data governance and how it works in relation to other organizational governance structures.

What you need to have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or related field
• A Masters’ degree in a related field (preferred)
• At least five (5) years of experience in data analytics solutions
• Proven experience in leading/working directly with software development teams in Enterprise level projects (Agile and Waterfall methodologies).
• Knowledge of IBM CloudPak for Data, Netezza DWH Appliance, Cloudera Data Platform would be strongly considered as a plus.
