Purpose

As a Systems Engineering Specialist you will be placed in Mainframe & iSeries Domain of Alpha Bank Infrastructure and Operations Division and you will be responsible for training on system administration tasks for the Unisys ClearPath Series Dorado Mainframe infrastructure hosting the retail banking portfolio, and/or the IBMi Power10 partitions hosting the lending portfolio. The position will also entail gradually performing system optimization, integrity, availability and monitoring, communicating with team members and business stakeholders, and meeting strict SLA’s.

What you will be doing

• Administering partitions from development, integration, UAT, preprod, to Production and Disaster environments.
• Configure and maintain systems and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
• Set up system backup policies and perform system backup/restore operations.
• Perform maintenance operations daily, weekly, and monthly for ensuring efficient systems operations.
• Interact with other Technical stuff, team members and cross-IT staff on support and project activities.
• Monitoring via embedded tools (Sightline) the system infrastructure and generate reporting on system health and performance.
• Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution.

What you need to have

• A Bachelor Degree in Information technology, Computer Science or any other relevant technical-oriented field
• Postgraduate degree in Computer Science will be considered a plus
• At least 2 years professional experience on systems administration on Linux (preferred)/Windows systems
• Script writing skills (Ansible or Powershell)
• Strong understanding of system administration best practices, storage and backup concepts.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
