Purpose

 

 

As Bank Financial Statements Team Leader, you will be part of Alpha Bank’s Financial Accounting Team and will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of the Bank’s Financial Statements according to the International Accounting Standards (IAS).

 

 

To effectively fill this role, you will need to possess strong team management and communication skills, as well as critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills. Additionally, you should be committed to the achievement of the team’s and organization’s goals.

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead the financial reporting team of the Bank and Holding Companies, in terms of financial statements.
  • Review the accounting entries and prepare the Bank’s Annual Financial Statements, ensuring strong level of control is maintained.
  • Authorize Bank account reconciliations, to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and there are no discrepancies.
  • Check updates on Bank's general ledger, recording all financial transactions and ensuring they are correctly categorized and posted.
  • Run the analyses on financial data to identify trends, anomalies, or areas of concern and provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on the analysis of financial statements.
  • Cooperate effectively with the Statutory Auditors on matters arising during the audit process for the Bank's Financial Statements.
  • Cultivate a high-performance team, by inspiring the team while fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and inclusion.

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or in any other related field.
  • A Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics or in any other relevant field is preferred.
  • At least seven (7) years relevant experience in Financial, Regulatory or Risk Reporting or in Audit related services.
  • A professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) will be considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding communication and reporting skills.
  • Excellent use of MS Office.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken).
