Purpose
As a Collections Specialist, you will support the effective management of collection activities by facilitating the onboarding of new customers, managing assigned receivables, and ensuring timely and accurate collections in line with agreed credit terms. Your role is key to maintaining portfolio quality and supporting the smooth operation of the Company’s factoring activities.
What you will be doing
- Facilitate the smooth integration of new customers into the Company’s portfolio, ensuring acceptance of assignments, confirmation of customer and debtor credit terms, and validation of assigned receivables.
- Issue and manage letters of assignment and reassignment, while maintaining physical records of related documentation.
- Organize the timely collection of assigned receivables, ensuring compliance with agreed credit terms between customers and debtors.
- Reconcile the accounting balance of assigned receivables with debtors and identify any outstanding issues that may reduce the value of assigned claims.
- Contribute to the resolution of disputes related to receivables with debtors.
- Allocate receipts and credits to the corresponding assigned receivables.
- Provide required information to insurance companies, as stipulated by contract, in cases of insured assigned receivables.
- Communicate required information internally, in line with Company procedures, when assigned receivables are not reinsured.
- Track accounts under liquidation to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Provide necessary data on assigned receivables to the Company’s Legal Department and the Bank, when required.
What you need to have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, with a relevant academic background for the role.
- A Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is considered an advantage.
- At least four (4) years of professional experience in factoring, with hands-on involvement in collection activities.
- Solid knowledge of factoring services, supported by experience in accounting, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- An analytical and results-oriented approach, demonstrating sound decision-making, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective time management.
