Purpose

 

As an FX Trader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day interbank derivatives activities that include providing prices on derivative transactions.

What you will be doing

 

  • Monitor market trends and economic news in the international derivatives markets and carry out transactions in order to achieve profitability for the Bank.
  • Provide prices to the relevant Units of the Bank and to Group Companies with a similar scope of business.
  • Support Senior Traders to manage the derivatives portfolios of the Bank within the approved trading limits and the desk’s risk appetite.
  • Execute derivative transactions, in the interbank market to hedge the risks of the derivatives portfolios and internal and external client transactions.
  • Stay up-to-date with financial market developments in all areas, and especially changes in the regulatory framework, and prepare proposals to comply with relevant changes.
  • Analyse portfolios of derivatives with financial institutions to identify areas of optimisation and ensure adequate interbank derivative limits for potential transactions.
  • Participate in internal and external projects to implement innovative solutions for optimising/automating the bank’s procedures.
  • Support junior traders by providing training and guidance in areas of expertise.

 

What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or related fields.
  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Quantitative Finance or Risk Management (desired)
  • At least five (5) years of working experience in relevant roles
