Purpose
Responsible for assessing the Bank’s operational risk processes and policies, by analyzing incident reports, and identifying risky procedures for the business. Proposes techniques to minimize financial loss and prevent various operational risks such as ones connected with legal lawsuits and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) risks.
Task and Accountabilities
Supports the design of the policy and the appropriate methods for monitoring, assessing and managing operational risk at Group level.
Drives specialized methodologies for measuring operational risk, as well as policies and procedures for calculating capital requirements for operational risk.
Assesses proposals for the establishment of limits relevant to operational risk management and recommend, in cooperation with the relevant business area the introduction or modification of specific limits where appropriate.
Monitors data regarding Bank’s various types of operational risk events such as Legal/Technological/External-Internal fraud etc. and coordinates the implementation of these processes.
Reviews Operational Risk assessments and the development of relevant scenarios, at the Bank’s business areas, Group Companies and Branches abroad.
Identifies business disruptions and crisis scenarios to review incident responses (Risks associated with cyberattacks, data breaches, and the compromise of sensitive information, Risks stemming from weaknesses in IT systems and infrastructure and business continuity planning.
Works with appropriate information technology and security functional areas to identify potentially elevated risk concentrations and performs assessments of the corresponding risks and mitigating controls.
Recommends, develops and implements risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize the impact of ICT related operational risks on the Bank's operations. Contributes to the development and enhancement of ICT risk policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with evolving industry trends and regulations.
Combines expertise in both operational risk management and legal affairs, ensuring that the Bank complies with applicable laws and regulations while minimizing the financial and reputational impact of legal disputes.
