Purpose

As a Data Engineer will be joining the IT Digital Services and Data Analytics Division and will be responsible for examining complex data and converting it into information and insight to assist in decision making. Monitor indicators and control points that related to performance and quality, in order to diagnose and identify ways to improve systems and database design. You will be responsible for processing data in Big Data environments (structured, unstructured and semi-structured) in order to prepare them for further analysis by Data Scientists.

What you will be doing

• Collaboration and guidance from Data Custodian in projects which relate to the quality of Data.
• Collaboration with Database Developers to implement automated and efficient processes, developing queries on SQL platform.
• Collect data from different sources (database, files etc.) for quality and accuracy cotrol.
• Data transformation and result analysis with the use of statistical method (data profing).
• Development and implementation of scripts for data management and data quality processes.
• Design and development of procedures for long-term data storage and retrieval of various data solutions in collaboration with source code engineers and end-to-end solution designers.
• Understand the dynamics of the data involved and the processes that lead to storage or retrieval.

What you need to have

• Α Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English.
• At least one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience working as Data Engineer.
• At least one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience working directly with software development teams.
• Relevant experience in Test Management, Defect Management and Business Objects.
• Knowledge of SQL, ETL Tools (SSIS, IBM Data Stage), RDBS (Netezza, SQL Server).
• Understanding of project management and software development cycle.
• Knowledge of business processes in Banking
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Solid analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
