Purpose
As a Remittances Specialist in Alpha Bank, you will be responsible for operations regarding outgoing and incoming remittances of the Greek Branch Network, both domestically and internationally.
What you will be doing
- Post, settle, monitor, and service all remittances under your responsibility with full accuracy and diligence.
- Document all remittance processes that fall within your area of responsibility.
- Keep yourself fully updated on products/services, systems, procedures, and the regulatory framework relevant to your role.
- Contribute to managing the operational aspects of Branch Network customer relationships, address issues, and facilitate support and guidance efforts.
- Achieve optimal commission collection for all products/services under your responsibility.
- Provide valuable input to optimize standardized operational processes and participate in local re-engineering projects.
- Simplify operations by introducing automation that reduces workload, lowers costs, and improves customer experience.
- Complete complex processing, operational, servicing and/or accounting duties within your assigned area.
- Resolve issues as required and escalate unusual or non-standard problems to higher levels.
- Comply with all internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Manage operational risk by applying your knowledge of operational manuals, AML processes, sanctions, internal policies, and regulatory obligations, identifying potential issues, and escalating them appropriately.
- Share best practices with colleagues across the organization and contribute to a supportive work environment aligned with the Bank’s values.
What you need to have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Payments Operations with solid knowledge of remittances.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, financial transactions, and operational control.
- Ability to identify risks, monitor transactions, and ensure operational accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to solve complex problems.
- Proven result orientation and ability to support process improvement.
