Purpose 

 

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join the Bank’s Business Intelligence and Reporting Domain within the IT Digital Services and Data Analytics Division. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support enterprise data architecture, business intelligence, and analytics initiatives. You will collaborate with Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, Data Engineers, and BI teams to ensure data structures are aligned with business requirements, ensuring data consistency, scalability, and compliance with data governance standards. 

What you will be doing


•    Design and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting enterprise BI and data platforms.
•    Translate complex business requirements into scalable and efficient data structures.
•    Define and maintain enterprise data modeling standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
•    Ensure alignment of data models across applications, and analytics environments.
•    Use data modeling tools (e.g., ERWIN Data Modeler) for model development, documentation, and version control.
•    Design and maintain data warehouse schemas (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional models).
•    Perform impact analysis on data model changes and ensure consistency across dependent systems.
•    Support enterprise data architecture initiatives and contribute to data strategy.
•    Collaborate with Business Analysts, Functional Analysts, Data Engineers, and Solution Architects to understand and analyze data requirements.
•    Act as subject matter expert for data structures, relationships, and data integration design.
•    Ensure data models support business processes and analytical needs.
•    Participate in solution design workshops and architecture discussions.
•    Provide guidance to development teams on data structure implementation.
•    Ensure data models comply with enterprise data governance policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
•    Define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation.



What you need to have


•    A Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
•    At least five (5) years of experience in Data Modeling, Data Architecture, or related roles.
•    Strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling methodologies.
•    Hands-on experience with ERWIN Data Modeler or similar enterprise modeling tools.
•    Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS).
•    Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling).
•    Experience working in Business Intelligence and analytics environments.
•    Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and data lineage.
•    Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in complex IT environments.
•    Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.
