Purpose

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the IT Core Banking Services Business Area and will be responsible for developing and maintaining software systems that meet the Bank’s business needs and objectives. You will also contribute to the creation of efficient, reliable, and scalable software applications by leveraging your knowledge of programming languages, frameworks, and tools.

What you will be doing

  • Develop software applications using programming languages, frameworks, and tools to create efficient and reliable software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Use best practices such as Design Patterns and Domain Driven Design methodology.
  • Identify and fix errors or bugs in software code using manual and automated techniques.
  • Apply software quality best practices such as automated unit and end-to-end testing and use Static Code Analysis tools to evaluate code.
  • Instrument delivered artifacts with monitoring and tracking features, embedding telemetry, feature switching, and other techniques.
  • Participate in the deployment of solutions and monitor the performance and quality of the systems you contribute to.
  • Create technical documentation describing software design, architecture, and code to enhance software maintainability.
  • Collaborate with other developers, as well as project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders, following established processes.
  • Stay current with the latest programming languages, frameworks, tools, and software development best practices.
  • Ensure continued functionality of programs during software maintenance and testing.
  • Recommend process improvements and technology updates to increase application efficiency.
  • Build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

What you need to have

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of relevant experience working as an Integration Engineer.
  • Proven experience in SOA architecture, Microservices, API design patterns, and the design and development of Java Web Service applications.
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering web services (e.g. RESTful, WCF, Web API, etc.) for integration between systems, including legacy systems, along with knowledge of Java Enterprise Edition principles and Java EE application development.
  • Knowledge of the Red Hat Integration Stack, including exposure to Fuse (ESB), Business Rules Management, and Business Process Management applications, as well as experience in Java development using Apache Camel.
  • Experience with IT repositories, Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices, containerization technologies including Kubernetes and OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), and SQL/no-SQL databases.
