Purpose

 

As a Functional Analysis Specialist, you will join the Special Lending Instruments Domain within the IT Core Banking Services Division of Alpha Bank S.A., contributing to the functional analysis of applications within the domain.

Working closely with IT and Business stakeholders, you will participate in IT projects, supporting the analysis of business requirements and ensuring their proper translation into functional specifications, in alignment with IT guidelines, methodologies, and business objectives.

What you will be doing

 

  • Translate business requirements to functional requirements, as an input to IT solutions design for a full set of applications that exist in a domain.
  • Cooperate effectively with the Senior Functional Engineering regarding the functional analysis process on small scale requirements.  
  • Adjust and/or assists on the design and testing of the IT systems to successfully fulfill needs of the Bank, using up-to-date technologies. 
  • Create detailed documentation regarding technical solutions, their scope and objectives, activities performed, and findings.
  • Execute functional testing and analyzes data to assess performance to specifications.
  • Supervise functional testing as well as and documentation activities, performed by the team of Functional Analysts. 
  • Stay up-to-date with the industry technical and business trends, to support the improvement process of the Bank’s internal systems/applications. 
  • Perform basic troubleshooting activities using available tools.


What you need to have

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in functional analysis, business analysis, or IT systems analysis within banking or financial services environments (e.g., lending systems, validation frameworks, or testing methodologies).
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications, including use cases, process flows, and system interactions.
  • Strong understanding of system analysis concepts, including dependencies, data flows, and integration points across applications.
  • Experience in functional and/or UAT testing, with the ability to validate system behavior against business and functional requirements.
  • Familiarity with tools such as MS Office, Visio, and Azure DevOps (or similar tools for requirements and test management).
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize requirements and identify constraints, risks, and dependencies.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical teams and business stakeholders in Greek and English.
