Data Governance Manager

Purpose

As a Data Governance Manager, you will join the Group Data & AI function and play a central role in defining and operationalizing the Group’s enterprise data governance framework. You will be responsible for setting data management principles, ensuring effective metadata and lineage management, partnering with business and technology stakeholders, and safeguarding the quality and integrity of critical operational data across the Group.

What you will be doing

•    Lead the delivery, rollout, and day to day operationalization of the Group Data Governance Framework.
•    Define and shape the Bank’s enterprise data management and data architecture principles, and monitor their consistent implementation across the Group.
•    Drive the development, adoption, and continuous improvement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures, in close collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
•    Provide technical and methodological assurance for the ongoing implementation of data governance practices across the Bank.
•    Oversee the analysis of business requirements related to Critical Data Elements (CDEs), ensuring strong traceability between data, business processes, regulatory needs, and enterprise value.
•    Ensure the identification, documentation, and maintenance of enterprise data assets within business and data glossaries.
•    Work closely with business and IT teams to implement effective metadata management and data lineage processes across data platforms and tools.
•    Partner with business areas to define and support Business Data Owners, enabling the consistent identification, ownership, and stewardship of Critical Data Elements.
•    Build and lead a high performing data governance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, empowerment, and inclusion.

What you need to have

•    A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.
•    A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant discipline (preferred).
•    At least 5 years of managerial experience in Data Governance or Data Management, with a strong focus on Critical Data Elements and metadata management.
•    Solid experience in Data Modeling and Enterprise Data Architecture.
•    Proven experience with Data Governance platforms such as IBM Knowledge Catalog, Informatica, or Collibra.
•    Strong understanding of banking data and regulatory environments (preferred).
•    Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across business and technology teams.
•    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to address complex data challenges, adapt to change, and drive continuous improvement.
