Purpose

 

As a Network Engineer, you will be placed in the Network Services team of the IT Infrastructure & Operations Division of Alpha Bank, being responsible for the maintenance and support of the network systems and infrastructure. He/She will monitor the performance and availability of the network and will perform capacity planning, while analyzing network trends

The job holder should be self-motivated, with strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills. He/She should possess the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, perform under pressure and work both independently and in a team environment.

What you will be doing

 

  • Configure and manage network equipment.
  • Configure and manage network surveillance applications.
  • Performe network supervision.
  • Draft technical specifications (in collaboration with business representatives, IT application administrators and Project Managers).
  • Evaluate vendor solutions.
  • Performe maintenance on the systems’ hardware and software as well as on the related infrastructure.

 


What you need to have

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Engineering, Mathematics or in any other related discipline.
  • Excellent knowledge of network communication protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, IPsec).
  • Knowledge of routing and switching network protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of network security processes.
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi networks.
  • Up to three (3) years of working experience in the implementation and management of data-voice networks.
  • A certification in the corresponding technologies and especially in CISCO equipment (CCNA, CCNP)will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with and knowledge of implementations in IP telephony is desirable.
  • Experience with Network Load Balancing and Higher-Level Protocols (http, https, etc.) is desirable.
  • Experience with the operation of Network Management Systems is desirable.
  • Experience with Data Center Networking will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in managing video conferencing infrastructure is desirable.
