Purpose

 

As a Public Cloud Engineer, you will join Alpha Bank’s Cloud and Shared Infrastructure domain within IT Infrastructure & Operations. You will be responsible for the operation, governance, security, and continuous evolution of the Bank’s Public Cloud platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure.
You will work closely with security, networking, DevOps, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud services while ensuring compliance with enterprise and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing


•    Manage and operate enterprise Azure environments and cloud platform services
•    Implement, maintain, and optimize Azure landing zones and cloud governance controls
•    Deploy and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Bicep
•    Support cloud networking services including VNets, VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Load Balancers, and Private Endpoints
•    Manage identity and access controls using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Managed Identities, and Privileged Access Management solutions
•    Monitor cloud infrastructure health, performance, availability, and capacity using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related observability tools
•    Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform issues
•    Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
•    Support cloud security initiatives and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
•    Collaborate with application and DevOps teams to onboard workloads onto Azure
•    Contribute to automation initiatives using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
•    Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational improvements
•    Monitor cloud consumption and support cost optimization initiatives
•    Maintain operational documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks


What you need to have 


•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
•    Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure administration and operations
•    Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Bicep)
•    Experience with Azure networking and connectivity services
•    Good understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, RBAC, and governance controls
•    Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash)
•    Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud environments
•    Understanding of cloud resilience, backup, and disaster recovery concepts
•    Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and platform issues
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills


Nice to have


•    Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500 or equivalent)
•    Experience with Azure Landing Zones and Cloud Adoption Framework
•    Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel
•    Experience with Kubernetes services (AKS)
•    Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or other CI/CD platforms
•    FinOps and cloud cost optimization experience
•    Experience in regulated environments (banking, finance, telecommunications)
