For our operation in Luxembourg, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, who is eager to play a pivotal role in leading the planning and delivery of high-impact strategic, regulatory, operational, and transformation initiatives in a dynamic and international environment.To be based in Luxembourg, the successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across Alpha Bank Group and will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development and execution of the Bank’s international operations agenda.

 

Purpose


The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Luxembourg and will work closely with the local Management team, as well as with key stakeholders across the Alpha Bank Group.
During the first period, the role holder will be responsible for the overall coordination, planning, and execution of a strategic implementation program in Luxembourg. The Senior Project Manager will serve as the central point of coordination across all project workstreams, ensuring alignment between local business requirements, Group expectations, regulatory obligations, and implementation timelines.
Following the successful delivery and stabilization of the first period of activity, the role holder will continue leading strategic, regulatory, organizational, and transformation initiatives, supporting the execution of the local strategic agenda.

 

What you will be doing

 

A. Strategic implementation program in Luxembourg


• Lead the overall project management and coordination of a strategic implementation program in Luxembourg, covering regulatory readiness, operational implementation, and successful delivery of key project milestones.
• Work directly with the Group Project Manager from the Integrations and Group Initiatives team, responsible for the coordination of the relevant Group-level workstreams.
• Develop and maintain the master implementation plan, including project governance, key milestones, dependencies, critical paths, deliverables, resource allocation, and reporting mechanisms.
• Act as the central program coordinator in Luxembourg across all project workstreams and ensure alignment between local management, Group functions, regulators, external advisers, and implementation partners.
• Act as partner to the COO and local management, supporting key decisions relating to project delivery, organizational readiness, governance, and strategic priorities.
• Implement and maintain appropriate project management methodologies, governance frameworks, reporting standards, and monitoring tools throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, maintain, and monitor detailed project plans and track progress against agreed timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify project risks, issues, interdependencies (including across workstreams), and bottlenecks, ensuring timely escalation and implementation of appropriate mitigation plans.
• Coordinate interactions with regulators, external advisers, auditors, consultants, system providers, and other third-party stakeholders involved in the implementation process.
• In co-ordination with the Group Project Manager from the Integrations and Group Initiatives team, organize, manage, and drive project governance forums, steering committees, working groups, and senior management meetings, ensuring effective decision-making and timely follow-up of actions.
• Prepare executive-level presentations, progress reports, dashboards, status updates, and committee papers for local management, the Board of Directors, Board Committees, and Group stakeholders.
• Monitor the design and implementation of the Bank's target operating model, governance framework, business processes, organizational structure, and operational capabilities.
• Coordinate testing activities, operational readiness assessments, migration activities, and go-live preparations to ensure a successful transition into business-as-usual operations.
 
B. Ongoing strategic project delivery


• Lead and monitor strategic, regulatory, operational, digital transformation, efficiency, and organizational change initiatives across the Luxembourg operations.
• Support the COO and local management in the execution of the Bank’s strategic roadmap and management of key cross-functional initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of a robust project management and change management framework within the Luxembourg operations and promote a culture of disciplined project delivery across the organization. 
• Monitor project budgets and resource utilization, supporting management in forecasting, budget tracking, and cost control activities.
• Promote the application of industry best practices, project management standards, and continuous improvement initiatives across all project activities.

 

What you need to have


• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Project Management, or another relevant discipline; 
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in project management, business transformation, strategic consulting, or change management roles within the financial services sector.
• Previous experience in a leading management consulting firm is essential, with demonstrated involvement in large-scale transformation, operating model, organizational, or strategic initiatives.
• Strong experience within Private Banking, Wealth Management, or international banking environments is essential.
• Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects involving senior stakeholders, multiple workstreams, and significant regulatory or operational dependencies.
• Experience supporting banking implementation programs, regulatory projects, business transformations, target operating model implementations, or organizational change programs would be considered a significant advantage.
• Sound understanding of private banking operations, governance frameworks, risk and compliance environments, and regulatory requirements applicable to Luxembourg-regulated financial institutions.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks, including Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to establish project governance structures, manage budgets, monitor project performance, and report effectively to executive management, Board-level committees, and Group stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively at Executive Committee and Board level.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to structure complex topics and drive practical solutions.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the preparation of executive-level materials and management reporting.
• High level of ownership, accountability, professional judgement, resilience, and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and evolving environment whilst managing multiple priorities and demanding timelines.
• Experience working within an international banking Group structure with significant cross-border interactions and dependencies is highly desirable.
• Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of French and/or Greek would be considered an advantage.
